The Importance of Siblings

As I have been reflecting over the various interactions between myself and my children, I have come to realize that there has been interaction between my children with one another that is just as important to their development to society as it is to their faith. Sometimes the interaction has been positive, other times negative, but none the less it has been of importance to shaping who they have become (or will become). It may seem little in the grand scheme of things but it matters them, in that very moment.

Thank you Lord for all of the blessings you have provided. You have given strength, wisdom, and encouragement even when I have not or was not able to. You provide even when I am unworthy.

Memories

Thinking back to all of the fun times and memories that we have had as a family,  I can not help but think of the many blessing that God has given us. I came upon this video gem of the lovely Miss Katie doing what I call "Short People Bowling."

                                               "Then our mouth was filled with laughter,

                                                        And our tongue with singing.

                                                      Then they said among the nations,

                                                  'The Lord has done great things for them.'

                                                     The Lord has done great things for us,

                                                                   And we are glad."

                                                                                      Psalm 126: 2-3

No matter what happens within our lives, God provides moments for peace, happiness, joy and laughter to help us as we grow towards Him; both during good times and bad.

The Future....& the Past

Today, as I sit here, I realize that with the arrival of my newest and youngest son Gabriel, that my life has been a giant roller coaster ride: both ups and downs. I imagined having three or four kids when I was younger (in my 20's), but a I got older, I never imagined having more than Catherine and Michael. So when Jocelyn entered the picture, I was truly surprised and considered myself blessed to say the least. Now there is Gabriel, bringing the grand total to 4!

This leads me back to the Scripture,

                                 "For My thoughts are not your thoughts,
                                 Nor are your ways My ways" says the Lord.
                                 "For as the heavens are higher than the earth,
                                 So are My ways higher than your ways,
                                 And My thoughts than your thoughts."
                                                                          Isaiah 55:8-9

                                  "Trust in the Lord with all of your heart,
                                   And lean not on your own understanding;
                                   In all of your ways acknowledge Him,
                                   And He shall direct your paths."
                                                                           Proverbs 3:5-6

In the end, mankind's plans for life are just that: plans. How the symphony of music of this life plays out is up to the ultimate conductor; namely God. Thru His wisdom we have our family and friends during the journey, but it is our faith that keeps us dancing to the music.
